Over the last few weeks, the Sunshine Coast Camera Club has been in discussion with the Caloundra Camera Group (from Australia) to arrange a Zoom joint club meeting to bring together our respective Sunshine Coasts! The purpose of this meeting is to share photos of our respective communities with the possibility of future joint meetings.
While not all SCCC members have participated in the Sunshine Coast Camera Club Zoom meetings, most have attended one or more meetings. The club plans to continue to use Zoom technology until pandemic regulations permit the club to resume in-person meetings. The use of Zoom could allow us to develop a “Twin Club” or “Sister Club” relationship with another camera club. The meeting of the two Sunshine Coast camera clubs provide a perfect opportunity.
A first meeting, scheduled for Thursday evening, April 22nd (Pacific time) will allow each club to share a slide show of approximately 20 photos to reflect our respective communities. The slides should represent a wide range of topics that could include local schools, business, land/seascapes, local folks, environment, etc. The photographer responsible for each slide will be given up to one minutes to describe what the image represents. An opportunity for informal conversation will follow.
This should be a fun and interesting evening for both clubs’ members. Who knew that a pandemic could result in a unique international relationship between two camera clubs!
